What form do the lessons take?

Customised Dutch language training courses

The ideal language training? That varies from one person to another. You’re unique. Your background is unique. Your daily activities are unique. That’s why I customise each language training course. Your current language proficiency, your learning style and your learning objectives will determine the form your lessons take.

Language levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1

Whatever your level at the moment, I’ll help you to reach the next language level. In language education, the levels are indicated in ascending order with A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. I can help you to reach language level B2, which is the level required for entry to many higher professional education programmes and university courses.

At the level of B2, you can:

  • converse fluently and spontaneously
  • hold discussions and explain points of view on topics you are familiar with
  • effortlessly read complex texts in your own professional field
  • write clear, detailed texts.

Tried and trusted teaching method

You will have lessons according to a tried and trusted method which was developed specifically for highly educated non-Dutch speakers. Communication, interaction and collaborative learning are key. We use both books and online teaching materials.

Motivating additional exercises

In addition, we work with functional assignment and work methods which I have personally put together. These assignments fit in with the other exercises and they motivate you to work on your Dutch language proficiency outside the lessons too.

We speak only Dutch during the lessons.

The emphasis is on speaking which is why we speak exclusively in Dutch during the lessons. Scary? On the contrary: it’s fun! And more importantly, it’s the quickest way to learn the Dutch language. I also focus on intelligibility, paying attention to your pronunciation, intonation and melody.

Live (corona-proof) and online

The lessons are both live and online. I have a good, corona-proof classroom for the live lessons at my home in Eindhoven. We can maintain a safe, 1½ metres distance during the lessons.
